The Braj Bhoomi is under threat. The threat of Mining by greedy money minded people.

The area called Braj Bhoomi lies near the borders of Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh States of India.

It is the place wherein Shri Krishna was born, in the main city of the area called Mathura … and spent his childhood in this area.

This place is of great spiritual value, as it is this area the Braj, in which Shri Krishna performed his raasa leelas in his childhood, and had spent his time with his eternal lover Radharani, in the serene forests and hills of the Brajbhoomi.

There are many hills and forests in this region, wherein the Scriptures testify that Shri Krishna had performed his Pastimes here in this sacred area.

Recently, i came across a blogpost of fellow blogger called Lushala, wherein i learnt that there was some mindless mining going on in this area and most of the hills in the area are being flattenned with dynamites, for some petty economic benefits.

Well, even if these people who mine these areas for some petty economic benefits, think that it will generate employment in the area … but the fact is that the benefits of these activities will be over a span of one generation or at the most, two generations. But if these hills and forests are left to their pristine glory, then it would benefit “countless generations” … and our children and grand children would be glad to witness the “Heaven on Earth” … the Braj Bhoomi, the Land of Shri Krishna.

The concerned “Brajwasis” … that is the people of this area, have launched a movement against this Mining Activity in this area … and they have formed an Non-Profit Organization called Braj Rakshak Dal … to protect the “Sacred Hills and Forests” and the “Flora and Fauna” of the area.

There are some interesting articles on this topic on the website of Braj Dham Seva too.

The newsreports that the Mining of the Hills was undertaken … under the auspicies of the previous Rajasthan Government under Vasundhara Raje … came as a shock to me. Its because she belongs to a “Hindu Party”, the BJP … and BJP is supposed to be safeguarding the Hindu Religious Interests and Sentiments, and the fact that this party has clearly hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus by allowing this mining activity in this area.

Its was really heartnening to see Hindu Groups objecting to the proposal for construction of Sea Passage for Ships called SethuSamudram Project in the seawaters between the coasts of the Indian State of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka … which would mess up Underwater Bridge constructed by Lord Rama.

But when it comes to the Land of Shri Krishna, the Braj Bhoomi … it seems that the Hindu Groups dont take it seriously enough !

And now, after a change of the Government in Rajasthan from a BJP to a Congress Government … its seems that the Illegal Mining Activity is still going on … destroying the the Sacred Hills and Forests of the Braj.

I cannot help but laugh at the ignorance of the Hindus in general … dont they know that the place where Shri Krishna has spent his childhood … is the most most sacred place on earth … its the Heaven on Earth ! … How do we Hindus tolerate such messing up with our sacred places, i wonder !

Dont we like the Braj Bhoomi to stay Green and Serene … with the hills and forests, reminding each and everyone of us, the various episodes that happenned in the life of Shri Krishna … thick forests with pristine waters … clear air with the fragrance of the wild flowers … deers running around … peacocks flying and showing their full feathers when its about to rain … cows roaming around charmingly grazing grass … monkeys dancing, playing with eachother, and plucking eating fruits on the trees … birds singing in the evening … and the thought of the Sound emanating from the Flute of Shri Krishna in this setting, to which gopikas dance in an mesmerized state … makes me want to experiance the eternal bliss of the Raasa Leelas of Shri Krishna in his Braj Bhoomi.

See for yourself the destruction that is being done to the brajbhoomi … and its so disgusting, to unravel how human greed can fall to such an extent …

I urge the concerned authorities to immediately stop this destruction of the Braj Bhoomi … and initiate the efforts to afforest the whole of the Braj Bhoomi … to bring back its prestine beauty and glory … much to the apeasement of Shri Krishna.
